Capital Cowgirls Drill Team at Wesley Clover Park
This past September, I caught up with the Capital Cowgirls Drill team at Wesley Clover Park’s Fall Horse Festival. The Fall Horse Festival encourages kids to experience first contact with horses and I can’t think of a better group of ladies to be introducing kids to horses!
I love watching this team perform not only because they are incredible riders that put on a wicked performance, but because I love watching people be inspired by them! Seeing people’s faces light up when they get to meet & greet the horses and riders after a performance is always a delight.
The Capital Cowgirls Drill Team is comprised of a group of riders aged 14 years and up and while the team is only three years old, they are quickly becoming fan favorites at fairs, competitions and expo’s including riding in the opening of the RCMP Musical Ride sunset ceremonies.
The team is partnered with Circle J Ranch and is coached and choreographed by Jennifer Byvelds, owner and operator of Nation Valley Ranch in Chesterville. She is a certified riding instructor and has been teaching competitive riding teams for 10 years.
Have you seen the team in action yet?
