HOLIDAY 2019: The Ultimate Equestrian Gift Guide

Can you believe the holiday season is already starting? I’m over here finishing up the candy from Halloween… yikes! I mean, have you even started looking at your shopping list?

This year, I was craving some holiday inspiration so I went ahead and created the ULTIMATE equestrian gift guide to share with you.

(I may or may not have already purchased some of these items for myself…. #treatyourself)

This is not your mama’s gift guide - there are a mix of items from high-to-low price points and everything from stocking stuffers to “oh-my-gosh-I-can’t-believe-you-got-me-this-I-now-owe-you-my-firstborn-child” gifts.

Just so you know, I am not affiliated with any of these products and I don’t get any (zip! zero! zilch!) kick-backs so this is literally just a list of the things that I like, use or am dreaming about.

I’m so excited about this - I hope you are, too! Let me know which items have made it onto your holiday list!

STOCKING STUFFERS

  1. HotHands Hand Warmers: defrost those frozen fingers that feel like they are permanently holding reins!

  2. Victorinox Swiss Army Camper Pocket Knife: a practical gift that every equestrian should have. I always carry mine with me when I’m at the barn - it’s so useful AND it’s important to have in case of emergencies. Horses can get themselves into the craziest situations so being able to take action fast (like cutting a rope quickly) can make all the difference.

  3. Glossier Lip Gloss: Long-wearing lip gloss for the on-the-go equestrian - also a fabulous lip gloss for photos.

  4. Anky Fleece Polo Wraps: I love the bright red color - perfectly festive for the holiday season. (And they have coordinating saddle pads to match!)

  5. Thieves Hand Sanitizer: This stuff smells SO good and it won’t dry your hands out - great for the cold winter months.

  6. Hoof Pick: I like these hoof picks because they are narrow and it doesn’t take up a lot of space. In addition to my swiss army knife, I always carry one of these with me around the barn. If I’m out in the field and need to quickly take a look at a hoof, I can easily whip this lightweight hoof pick out and use it.

HOME DECOR

  1. VINTERFEST Decoration, horse: super cute and totally affordable home decor

  2. Orange Horse Pillow Cover: Fancy and fun pillow cases to add a pop of color to your home decor.

  3. HORSE SMALL WALKING - JUNCEA AIRPLANTS: This is a total splurge but I have not seen something this creative or beautiful in ages - these are total conversation pieces!

  4. Helpful Horse Brass Coat Rack: A cute and handy coat rack for your front hall!

  5. Wentworth Stirrup Coaster Set: A chic and subtle nod to your equestrian flare.

GIFTS FOR THE OFF-DUTY EQUESTRIAN

  1. Alexa Fairchild Trailblazer Teddy Jacket: Confession: I bought this jacket the minute I saw it online. First of all, it is reversible - yes, REVERSIBLE!!! It looks incredible (I get so many compliments) AND it’s really warm. I’m normally a size small and that’s what I ordered but when the fuzzy side is on the inside it fits a bit snugger so if I had to go back and do it over again, I probably would have sized up to get more of an over-sized look and fit.

  2. ZODIAC NECKLACE: I’m obsessed with all things Spell & the Gypsy (check-out this photoshoot featuring one of their dreamy skirts). Get one of these gorgeous necklaces for someone on your list and one for yourself.

  3. Carter Flat Frame Sunglasses in Maple Syrup Tortoise: Every equestrian needs a pair of classic sunnies for those extra-early pre-show coffee runs.

  4. BENEFIT COSMETICS Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara: Whenever I go through photography prep with a client and they ask me about makeup, I always recommend this mascara. It’s THE best. (I also teach my clients my super-secret lash curling technique that, when paired with this mascara, makes it look like your lashes are a mile-long!)

  5. CLEAN RESERVE - Reserve Terra Woods Perfume: Creamy top notes and woody base with a hint of vanilla - smells amazing!

GIFTS FOR YOUR HORSE

Let's all catch up, dnce,and feast together..jpg

  1. Oster Equine Care Series Grooming Brush: These brushes feel like they will last - I like the extra-stiff ones for getting caked-on mud off which seems to happen a lot this time of year.

  2. Not quite 50 shades of gray saddle pad: I love, love, LOVE these gorgeous hand-made creations. This is one of the MANY beautifully colorful options available on Air to Ground Equine’s website - their whimsical saddle pads are so much fun and the PERFECT gift for the equestrian who has everything. Is it wrong to want one in every color?

  3. Stud Muffins: I think my gelding is a spoiled… sometimes he turns down other treats because he knows I have one of these in my pocket. I’ve never met a horse that didn’t like them. These are truly a one-size-fits-all gift!

  4. Louis Vuitton Horse Halter: For the equestrian who has EVERYTHING. This is a splurge item but I love that the company that creates these uses reclaimed Louis Vuitton bags and re-purposes them. Talk about a great up-cycle!

  5. Rambo Deluxe Fleece Horse Cooler: There is something about this color combo that just screams lux - design and function in one piece to cool down your horse in style.

GIFTS FOR AN EQUESTRIAN

  1. Ariat Air Grip Riding Gloves: If you’re anything like me, you lose your gloves…like, all. the. time. And not so much lost as they are separated and then I can find one but not the other - I think they must go to the same place socks go to when they get lost… Anywho, a new pair is always appreciated!!

  2. The Explorer Leggings: I bought a pair of these two year ago and I love them. They aren’t riding breeches but these take me from the gym to the barn without a second thought. When I get to the barn I throw a pair of half-chaps on and I’m good to go! They take the sting out of cold winds - which is helpful when you’re trying to catch your gelding and it’s -30 Celsius out with whipping winds and he decides it’s time to go for a stroll to the farthest end of the pasture… 😒

  3. BOZEMAN OUTDOOR HAT: A classic Stetson design that looks so chic in Mushroom.

  4. Custom Arctic Insulated Riding Skirt: I am lusting over these ridiculously cozy looking winter riding skirts. I may need to give Santa a heads up because this would be a dream come true to find under the tree!

  5. Giddy Up sweatshirt: Milton Menasco does it again! Teaming up with Celeris (who make incredible bespoke riding boots) this sweatshirts gives us the confidence to take on anything. I might have to get one early so that I can wear it while navigating holiday shoppers at the mall…

And that is a WRAP!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this list as much as I have making it - I would love to hear what you think!
